Job Description

Assist and support Associate Director Statutory & Tax and ATC Audit Manager in all statutory and tax requirement related to the day-to-day activity of the Spanish legal entities, as well as in VAT and corporate Income Tax (CIT) planning and execution. Responsible for direct supervision and support of the statutory team accounting clerks to ensure overall Statutory tasks and goals are completed and met including coaching, training, monitoring and review of work performed. Ensure guidance and instructions from Associate Director Statutory & Tax and ATC Audit Manager are followed. Identify and highlight potential tax, statutory and operational risks to the Associate Director Statutory & Tax and ATC Audit Manager as well as train the statutory accounting clerks to identify any issues. This position’s responsibilities will include all VAT and Intercompany reporting requirements for the Spanish entities ensuring all critical tasks are performed by the relevant due dates. CRITICAL TASKS Job Functions  Review Intercompany Analysis monthly ensuring intercompany transactions are correctly categorised.  Prepare the quarterly Intercompany Matrices to ensure intercompany transactions are full reconciled and any new transactions identified, categorized and check to Intercompany Agreements. Report on any new unsupported transactions  Prepare transfer pricing validations and review the annual transfer pricing report  Prepare, submit and reconcile the Tax Return 232  Supervise the preparation and presentation of the VAT returns ensuring full reconciliation to SII reported invoices and the VAT control accounts  Supervise the reverse charging / self-invoices for the Intercompany services for inclusion in the VAT return.  Supervise the preparation and reconciliation of VAT bases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations. Coordinate with relevant teams for data collection and discrepancy resolution.  Implement improvements in the analysis of P&L accounts, making the work increasingly automatic and efficient, such as reducing reclassification entries due to mapping.  Implement reporting improvements to reduce manual work and to duplication of effort.  Prepare the intercompany loan analysis and interest calculations  Perform and review the new vendor notifications and documentation ensuring the correct VAT percentages are applied to new vendors. Work together with Accounts Payable to review and provide requested information for new vendor set ups. Adhere to agreed process timelines.  Implementing reporting improvements and recording process to increase process efficiency and risk mitigation.  Works in collaboration with other departments, on-site and off-site, internal, and external to MVCI to improve processes, procedures & controls to achieve the main goals described above.  CIT & Statutory FS supporting information as necessary.  Develop relationships with corporate and regional financial staff, auditors and tax authorities to ensure mutual success.  Participate in identifying and recommending opportunities to achieve operating efficiencies, strengthen internal controls.  Responsible for the maintenance of a strong control environment, with complete adherence to internal controls and SOPs. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration, or related field is required. Related Work Experience 2 years of accounting work experience is required. Strong knowledge of Local GAAP and Spain Tax requirements is required. Experience managing and understanding legal and tax administrative documentation. Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment with minimum supervision.
