Position Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring the company’s adherence to the U.S. Virgin Islands Economic Development Commission (EDC) program requirements. This role involves monitoring compliance activities, conducting internal reviews, coordination with external entities, and maintaining accurate documentation to support regulatory audits and reporting obligations.

In addition, this position will be responsible for planning and execution of programs that ensure the company’s beneficiary status which include philanthropy events, Manager Development Programs, and Internships for student residents.

Expected Contributions

  • Responds to, solves and makes decisions on more complex/non-routine business requests with moderate risk. 
  • Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.
  • Performs other duties as appropriate.
  • Review and monitor all company activities related to EDC program compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EDC regulations and ensure internal policies align with program requirements.
  • Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to the EDC and other regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits to identify and address compliance gaps.
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, and Operations teams to ensure accurate recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for EDC-related inquiries and audits.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on EDC compliance requirements.

Candidate Profile




Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, or related major preferred.
  • High School Diploma/GED required

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in compliance, auditing, or regulatory affairs.
  • Strong understanding of EDC program requirements and U.S. Virgin Islands regulations.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Proven mathematical aptitude and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external regulators.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, compliance management tools and AI powered office assistants
  • Strong problem solving, communication and presentation skills. The ideal candidate is organized and confident to work independently and is a strong team player able to work interdependently.
  • Ability to work under pressure in deadline-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks and staff persons.
  • Demonstrates ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences in English.
  • Demonstrates understanding of written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents in English.
  • Communicates effectively, in English writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
