This position is with Interval International, Inc., an operating business of Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation (MVW). MVW is a leading global vacation company that offers vacation ownership, exchange, rental and resort and property management, along with related businesses, products, and services.
Position Summary
Interval International is looking for an experienced communication professional who will be responsible for shaping and executing the company’s internal and external communication strategies. This role will lead a team of communication professionals and will work closely with senior leadership to ensure consistent messaging, brand alignment, and effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders. This individual will play a key role in driving the way Interval connects with associates, clients, media and industry partners around the world.
Reporting to the Vice President, Global Communications at MVW, this role requires expertise in internal and external communications strategies and campaigns, media relations and relationships, and executive visibility programs to enhance company storytelling and reputation. This highly visible role is critical in supporting the company’s senior leadership team and consulting with the larger enterprise. Success in this role requires the ability to apply seasoned judgment and situational awareness in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills; a resilient and solution-focused spirit; project management abilities; and a self-starter attitude.
Experience in community impact, employee engagement, media relations, event management and execution, managing outside agencies and working with influencers, is essential. This position will work cross-functionally to advance company objectives and initiatives, developing relationships across Interval and MVW to best position the business for success.
Expected Contributions
Communications, Strategy and Execution
- Craft clear, engaging, and brand-aligned content across multiple channels—press releases, internal announcements, executive messaging, thought leadership presentations, campaigns, digital content, and more.
- Manages development, ongoing evolution, and deployment of Interval’s business narrative, key messaging, and corporate materials.
- Elevates Interval’s market share of voice with the industry, positioning Interval as both a market and thought leader.
- Raises awareness of Interval, its expertise, its products and services among key business and public organizations, including media, existing and potential clients, legislators and regulators, and industry leaders.
- Lead the development and alignment of strategic communications by drafting initial messaging frameworks (“strawman” proposals) and driving cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders in client sales and service, member services, marketing, human resources, and inventory revenue management to ensure all messaging consistently reflects the Company’s voice and values.
- Support executive communications including speech writing, talking points, and presentation development for internal and external audiences.
- Monitors travel industry trends and media coverage to inform messaging and identify opportunities and cascade communications best practices across internal teams to ensure consistency, relevance, and alignment with the Company’s voice.
- Manages communications timelines and deliverables, coordinating with international teams and external vendors as needed.
- Develops business to business (B2B) event strategy and planning activities and leads strategic client communications planning.
- In partnership with Interval leaders, leads the internal communications process, ensuring all messaging is strategically aligned, properly vetted, and delivered with consistency and clarity.
- Partners with Interval’s Global Marketing lead team in preparation for critical business reviews, strategic discussions, prioritization discussions, etc.
- Oversees the planning and execution of the company’s community relations initiatives, while managing Interval’s presence in the market to ensure all events and engagements authentically reflect the company’s values, brand identity, and visual style.
- Performs other reasonable job duties as requested.
Oversee Team and Deliver Results
- Assess the team’s ability to think strategically and holistically across the full communications lifecycle, from concept to execution, while ensuring the team is staffed with the right mix of skills and capabilities to evolve and scale a high-performing global communications function.
- Provides clear, specific, and actionable direction, regardless of ambiguity, while ensuring alignment with the company’s broader strategy.
Stakeholder Management
- Establish and sustain strategic partnerships with key business and senior leaders to ensure communications initiatives are aligned with enterprise priorities, support business objectives, and reflect leadership perspectives. Partner with VP and support executive leadership on major company initiatives, including the launch of new products, services, and programs.
- Foster partnerships with key industry organizations and regional associations to enhance visibility and influence for Interval.
- Where appropriate, identify and implement communications agency partners, oversee agency integration, and manage day-to-day relationships.
Communication, Planning, Estimation, Budget
- Create and oversee budgets for communications programs, ensuring proactive management of allocated funds while also managing operational processes including vendor setup in PeopleSoft, timely and accurate processing of payments and expense reports.
Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field required (Master’s preferred).
Work Experience
- 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience managing media relations, crisis communication, and cross-functional communications initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams. Strategic thinker with a creative mindset and attention to detail.
- Proven success in leading communications campaigns that deliver measurable business outcomes.

Travel Requirements
