JOB SUMMARY
Oversee and supervise the Properties Resort Maintenance and Engineering Department including personnel, facilities (AOAO), budgeting, capital expenditures relating to the building, and construction projects which are executed on property. The Chief Engineer will also ensure timely and precise repairs and property improvements. This is an exempt position and will be paid on a salaried basis in accordance with state and federal law.
Salary range is $94,500 - $105,000
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- College degree/diploma or technical trade school preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 5 or more years’ experience in maintenance/engineering management. Ability to use power and hand tools. Must be able to read blueprints and schematics.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
- Establish and maintain budget for the hotel’s Resort Engineering/Maintenance department.
- Establish and maintain budget for the Property Association and capital expenditures forecasted 5 years into the future.
- Ensure that department is properly staffed,and supervise/train/discipline all employees in that function.
- Ensure that all room/common area/back-of-house/tenant area work orders are assigned and completed in a timely manner. These areas include the pool and associated deck, public restrooms, front entrance, common area space as allowed for by lease, elevators, fitness center, back-of-house, corridors and guestrooms. Ensure that a preventative maintenance program is in place to minimize the amount of repairs and guest complaints we receive.
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of all maintenance and engineering functions, keeping the shop and storage areas in clean, organized and safe conditions. Order supplies as necessary. Safeguard all supplies and equipment.
- Seek bids for, work with Contractors on establishing scopes of work, and contract if necessary, outside professional services related to the improvement of or smooth-running of the hotel.
- Ensure that all permits and inspections are maintained and updated appropriately. Responsible for scheduling all inspections on a timely basis to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Audit repairs/maintenance tasks and property improvements performed by the maintenance team and at times, outside contractors.
- Oversee project management for capital projects as they relate to the building and its infrastructure.
- Order and obtain parts and materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
