JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: HOUSEKEEPING CHECKER
DEPARTMENT: HOUSEKEEPING
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
To ensure the consistency of cleanliness and housekeeping services provided to our guests and owners, and to contribute towards achieving the overall performance standards of the property in areas of cleanliness and sanitation.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Housekeeping Managers & SupervisorsSupervises: Housekeeping Staff and overall cleanliness of common areas.
Interfaces: MVCI associates and guests.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure that apartments are cleaned consistently and adhering to the brand standards.
- Ensure that apartments are delivered back to reception according to daily needs.
- Responsible for courtesy visits to guests who have detailed profile notes, scored low in the guest satisfaction survey, or in general have special needs.
- Responsible to follow upon all arrival notification and prepare arrivals accordingly.
- Responsible to update guest profile notes based on feedback obtained during courtesy visits.
- Responsible for ensuring safe work practices and conditions within the department.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the general clean program.
- Responsible for delivering apartments clean to Reception on time.
- Supervising and controlling all associates of the department. Ensuring that all areas of the resort are in good conditions.
- Responsible for the maintenance of an effective work order program.
- To ensure that the department is following the internal procedures and Marriott policies.
- Interact with guests complains and needs.
- Responsible for following up all Human Resources programs.
- Control all deliveries to the department when needed.
- Required to work Monday to Sunday shifts
- Will have to clean when operations requires.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fluent Spanish, English and good command of a third language
- High school degree.
- Ability to supervise large housekeeping groups of 15 or more
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities
- Ability to interact with guests and employees
- Detail oriented and must possess strong organizational skills
- Good communication skills
- Self motivated and good team player
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent bending, kneeling and stooping, lifting up to 20kg, climbing ladders and up to 5 floors of stairs
- Good visual observation.
- Resistance to inclement weather conditions (heat and humidity)
- Calm and cool temper, excellent command of stress in cases of emergency
- Walking and working outside of air controlled areas.
- Capable of using chemicals
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the department or as instructed by Management.
OTHER:
- Be punctual and wear the name tag and uniform at all times during working hours.
- Perform all tasks in a timely manner ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.
- Comply with MVW polices and procedures.
- Be proactive and have a flexible approach to work, meeting the needs of the team and the business at all times.
- Maintain an attitude and commitment to provide excellent service to all customers and associates. Respond sensitively to the needs and feelings of others, regardless of status or position; accept interpersonal differences and maintain a constructive rapport with all associates and customers.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all Marriott product lines.
- Maintain computer systems knowledge (MS Office, e-mail etc)
- Work with all MVCI colleagues as a team, supporting the needs within that team
and those of the business at all times.
