Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Operational Finance – Training & Compliance is responsible for the continued development and implementation of uniform and efficient processes involving Accounting for all Field Resort Operations (RO) business units. Responsible for developing, reviewing and maintaining policies and standards for all RO business units. Will monitor and assess compliance with obligations imposed by management agreements, governing documents, company policies and standards. Assess sufficiency of internal controls and recommend training or process changes where appropriate.
The Senior Manager, Operational Finance– Training & Compliance is responsible for all aspects of accounting related to properties that are centralized and will act as the Director of Finance (DOF) for these locations. Will collaborate with all aspects of the business to develop, review, execute and operationalize new properties that include an Asset Light component or have complexities due to phasing of inventory.
Additionally, the Senior Manager, Operational Finance – Training & Compliance is the primary resource for training new and existing accounting personnel, will serve on task forces for new and existing resorts as needed and acts in a leading role in maintaining site/property business continuity.
The Senior Manager, Operational Finance – Training & Compliance’s core work activities include, but are not limited to, External and Internal Controls, Evaluating Compliance and Risk Assessment, Operationalize & Manage New Properties, Training Role, and Business Partnering with various stakeholders to meet compliance and financial objectives.

Operationalize & Manage New Properties:
- Review and provide feedback regarding all agreements and contracts including, but not limited to, Management Agreements, On-Site Operating Agreements, Resort Integration Agreements and draft Association Governing documents.
- Operationalize new properties, setup operating units, develop procedures, track pre-opening activity and provide training for the on-site DOF.
- Operationalize new asset light structures and implement procedures and training for the on-site DOF
- Serve as the liaison for asset light structures between the DOF and Asset Management
- Act as DOF and centrally perform, maintain and manage all accounting functions for centralized properties (e.g. month end close, financial statements, cash flow, audits, forecasts, budgets and Association board meetings).
Trainer Role:
- Develop and maintain training materials (e.g. manuals, videos) for new DOFs and Assistant Controllers to encompass all functions of Ancillary and COA businesses.
- Manage annual corporate and/or regional Finance and Accounting conferences including: training materials, agendas, location and coordinating event.
- Limited assignment in which position serves as hands-on training for a permanent position in the field as DOF or Assistant Controller.
- Serve on accounting task forces for resorts as needed.
- Provide accounting assistance and training related to startup of new resorts.
Business Partnerships:
- Utilize effective relationship building skills with a broad range of business partners to gain trust, positively impact decision outcomes, and mitigate risk to the organization. Stakeholders include, but not limited to, property owners’ association Board of Directors, corporate and regional F&A executives, corporate and regional Resort Operations executives, on-site leaders and associates, internal and external auditors, risk management, loss prevention, IT, corporate tax, treasury, and third-party vendors.
- Make quality business decisions that thoughtfully weigh the facts and understand the interests of stakeholders involved.
Candidate Profile
- BS or BA Degree in Accounting or Finance, or related major; or equivalent work experience.
- MA or MS in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent work experience) a plus.
- 6-8 years related work experience in finance or accounting required.
- Detail oriented and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, changing environment.
- Previous experience developing and delivering training modules.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Ability to work with associates at all levels of the organization and in a project team environment.
- Ability to travel with and without advance notice up to 50% of time.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 is required (i.e. MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote).
- Knowledge of Peoplesoft, Opera Property Management System, Fusebox and ProLease preferred.
