Position Summary
This Report Analyst position is responsible for supporting centralized data and analytics for Marriott Vacations Worldwide. The Analyst’s primary responsibility is to ensure all dashboard development and support is performed in a timely manner in order to meet the business needs. The incumbent is responsible for the centralized maintenance of distributions, dashboard support, data support and analytic solutions. The Analyst will be expected partner with business representatives to determine reporting/dashboarding and data requirements, partner with the data analysis team to ensure data availability for analytics and conduct unit and UAT testing.
Expected Contributions
- Collaborate with business partners to define reporting and data requirements and translate to reporting/dashboarding solutions
- Works with technical resources to draft conceptual and detailed design documentation
- Performs solution delivery planning for unit / user acceptance testing and deployment
- Monitors key performance measures and audits controls, consolidations, and/or reporting systems
- Identifies solutions and implements best-practice processes for reporting and data products
- Identifies opportunities for automation and utilizes available tools to implement solutions
- Works collaboratively with business users to understand complexities of the business and ensure timely exchange of information, user satisfaction, and process improvements
- Monitors the audit systems controls process including ER system change management and separation of duties
- Provides support for reporting and dashboarding
- Develops & maintains strong customer relationships
- Acts as a team member for implementation and upgrade projects for the various applications
- Develops an understanding of MVW business processes and how they interact with MVW applications
- Assists in special projects as required
- Performs other duties as needed
Candidate Profile
Education:
- Bachelor degree in Data Analytics or Information Systems or equivalent experience required
Experience:
- Proven experience with large scale Enterprise Resource Planning ERP implementations, including participating systems upgrades and enhancements
- Familiarity in utilizing SQL or similar tool sets in analyzing and documenting data requirements and business rules
- Hospitality and/or Timeshare experience preferred
Skills and Attributes:
- Possesses proficient knowledge of data warehousing, data analytics, and dashboarding principles
- Ability to analyze data and make recommendations for data and analytic solutions approaches
- Demonstrated ability to learn complex business processes and develop solutions to address business system needs in a holistic manner
- Strong communication and networking skills providing the ability to work in a dynamic, multi-functional matrix environment
- Pro-active, assertive, motivated and disciplined
- Effective at prioritizing work and following through on commitments
- Demonstrated understanding of business process mapping methodologies
- Strong service orientation and excellent communication skills
Technical Skills:
- Microsoft Office (all apps)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills (Macros, XLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, and Advanced functions)
- SQL analysis experience
- Business intelligence experience, preferably with Power BI
